Note

Tron casino game balance: TRX and USDT are two separate balances

Six small cards in a row, one for each note

At an operator that takes both TRX and USDT on Tron, the account does not hold one pot of value. It holds a balance per currency, and the deposit you send decides which one grows. The two assets are different on the network too, which is why the cashier asks you to name them separately.

This note is about where a deposit lands, and about the one step, a conversion, that moves value between the two.

How the right balance gets credited

Your wallet sends an asset to an address. The operator’s system sees an incoming transfer and, by the contract involved, knows whether it was TRX or a token. The account is credited in that asset. If you meant to fund a USDT balance and sent TRX, the TRX balance grows instead, and the USDT one does not. Nothing is lost, but nothing has converted either.

Why the cashier names the network as well

USDT exists on several networks, and a cashier that takes it on Tron will show you the network name beside the asset. Cloudbet gives USDT seven routes, each with its own minimum, and BitStarz’s page source names two protocols for it. Choosing the Tron route is how you tell the cashier which of the several USDT you are sending. TRX has no such choice to make at the cashiers that name it: it is the native coin of one network.

A conversion is an operator step

To move value from one balance to the other you use a conversion screen in the account, at a rate the operator sets, sometimes with a margin. The chain plays no part, so no bandwidth or energy is spent, and the cost is whatever the operator’s rate and any fee line say. Look at the rate before you accept it, as you would at a currency counter.

Which one to hold

That depends on what you want to be exposed to. A TRX balance moves with the coin’s price while you hold it; a USDT balance is meant to stay level against the dollar. Neither is the safer choice in general, and we do not suggest one. The point of this note is narrower: they are two balances, and a game, a bonus or a withdrawal draws on one of them, not on a combined total.

Two short answers

If I send TRX, which balance grows?
The TRX one. A USDT balance is credited only by a USDT deposit.
Does a conversion use network energy?
No. It happens inside the operator’s system, at the operator’s rate.
